Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Dr. Tisherman attended Carnegie Mellon University for undergraduate studies and went on to the University of Pittsburgh for medical school, where he earned membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honor society. Dr. Tisherman will be in Orthopedic Sports Medicine, focusing primarily on treating knee and shoulder issues, including arthritis in both joints.
His journey into medicine began while studying biomedical engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. He was drawn to a field that would allow collaboration with other physicians and the opportunity to make a direct impact on individual patients. What truly captivated him was the patient interaction, which ultimately steered him towards a career in medicine.
What he enjoys most about practicing medicine is working closely with patients in the clinic. Dr. Tisherman believes that no problem is ever simple when it affects a person's ability to function or perform at their desired level. The ability to problem-solve and help patients return to their desired level of function is a rewarding aspect of his practice.
Outside of work, Dr. Tisherman and his spouse enjoys running and spending as much time as possible exploring the outdoors in North Carolina.
