Appointment Cancellations

We ask that you provide us with notice if you are unable to keep an appointment. This consideration will create availability for another patient requiring medical care. In an effort to provide access to our patients, we ask that you provide greater than 24 hours notice if you are unable to attend your visit. Please be advised that consecutive appointment no show or cancellations within 24 hours will result in our office no longer being able to schedule future appointments with your provider.

Arrival at the Clinic for your Appointment

As of July 28, 2025, all Duke Orthopaedic clinics transitioned to cashless payments. We accept credit, debit, or contactless payments, like Apple Pay or Google Pay. You will be required to pay using one of the methods listed above prior to each visit to Duke Orthopaedic clinics. If you have a balance due after your visit, a statement will be sent to you via My Duke Health or via the mail. Please scan the QR code to see how to make a payment on your statement.

If you are a New Patient to the clinic and have a MyChart account, you will receive messages in MyChart to eCheck-In in advance of the visit.  If you complete eCheck-In including paying your Co-pay online, you will simply walk into the clinic and use one of our user-friendly kiosks to self-arrive for your appointment.  This will save you time and be seen by the provider sooner.

If you do not eCheck-In as a New Patient, please arrive 30 minutes prior to your appointment time and:

  1. You will be required to provide proof of identity and your insurance card so we can file an insurance claim with your carrier on your behalf.
  2. You will be required to complete self-arrival on a user-friendly kiosk in our waiting room.
  3. You will be required to pay any copay, coinsurance or deductibles that you are responsible for as a result of your insurance policy. Patients will be asked to reschedule if they are not prepared to make payments they are responsible for at the time of service.

If you are a Return Patient to the clinic and have a MyChart account, you will receive messages in MyChart to eCheck-In in advance of the visit.  If you complete eCheck-In and pay your co-pay online, you will simply walk into the clinic and use one of our user-friendly kiosks to self-arrive for your appointment. This will help us optimize your clinic visit.

If you do not eCheck-In as a Return Patient, please arrive 20 minutes early to:

  1. Complete self-arrival on one of our kiosks located in the waiting room.
  2. Pay any copay, coinsurance or deductibles that you are responsible for as a result of your insurance policy. Patients will be asked to reschedule if they are not prepared to make payments they are responsible for at the time of service.
